This concert was the first broadcast for the new "all Olympic" TV channel, CCTV-5

 

It was held on New Year's Eve to kick off the build up of the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing

 

We were featured along with some of China's biggest pop stars

 

Liquid Blue was the only U.S. band featured at the event

 

The event was televised live and shown on four CCTV stations; 1, 3, 5 and 9 (English Channel)

 

This was our third trip to China in 2007 and eighth overall since 2002

 

Liquid Blue was the first U.S. act to be signed to a Chinese record label

 

The bands popularity has continued to grow over the years in China

 

Beijing is the capital of China

 

This concert was likely our biggest ever in terms of the television audience

 

The New Year's event came just two days after the band had performed in Haikou to 35,000 fans

 

Beijing is the 10th Chinese city (as of 2008) that Liquid Blue has performed in

 

While we were in Beijing, CCTV broadcast three Liquid Blue shows including a past show in the USA

 

The crowd was with us every step as we performed the Chinese song "Pong Yo" in Chinese language

 

Receiving flowers is a sign that you are appreciated by the crowd

 

The sold-out concerts was held at the 8200 seat China Agricultural University Sports Arena

 

This arena will be used to host the Wrestling competition for the 2008 Summer Games

 

Today's Chinese pop scene is similar in many ways to the 1950's and 60's in the USA

 

Beijing is also known as Peking in English

 

Beijing is China's 2nd largest city behind Shanghai

 

The city will host the 2008 Summer Olympic Games
